On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his military forces to attack Ukraine, which they did from multiple directions. They attacked by land, sea, and air from the east through the Dombass region of Ukraine, from the south through Crimea which was annexed to Russian in 2015, and from the north through Belarus, in what was the biggest attack on a European country since WWII.
For those of you who don't realize it yet, this was the event that will ultimately kick off World War III. The United States and other NATO countries did not do anything to stop Putin, who has threatened to use nuclear weapons against anyone who tries to interfere with him. He said his response would be immediate, bringing “Consequences that you have never experienced in your history.” The US and its NATO allies did announce that there would be severe sanctions against Russia for this, but that is not expected to stop Putin. In fact, he has many ways of retaliating against these countries that levy sanctions against Russia.
Russian War Crimes
Intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure is a war crime. According to Amnesty International, Russia is carrying out “indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas and strikes on protected objects such as hospitals.”
Although Russia denied that it is attacking civilian infrastructure, the Ukraine Twitter account says:
"Russia invaded Ukraine. Russian missiles and military are targeting civilian infrastructure and killing innocent people in Ukrainian cities. Russia attacks not only Ukraine; it attacks the whole of Europe. Ukraine defends its own independence, and peace and democracy in Europe."
The Russian military also attacked several civilian airports, including Kyiv-Boryspil International Airport, which I have personally flown in and out of a number of times between 1995 and 2009 (I did my internship in Ukraine, and have been back there a few times since then on missions trips). Many videos have been posted online showing Russian missiles striking civilian infrastructure like apartment buildings, such as the one in Kiev pictured above that was hit by a Russian bomb on February 25, 2022 [Daniel Leal/AFP]. Moreover, Russian forces captured the failed Chernobyl nuclear power plant, north of Kiev, in an apparent symbolic signal to Europe not to interfere militarily in the conflict or else it could face Russian nuclear retaliation. CBN News said credible reports indicate that Russian soldiers are holding hostage the staff of the nuclear power plant.
NATO Response
If you have followed the news at all, you know that NATO has moved thousands of troops to the border of Ukraine to bolster their defense against the war spilling over into Europe. But the fact is that Russia's unprovoked invasion of a sovereign nation has emboldened China to do the same with Taiwan, as evidenced by their recent statements to that effect, and will also embolden the enemies of Israel, such as Iran and Syria. It's just a matter of time for these other countries to go to war as well.
Israeli Implications
Speaking of Israel, they often conduct bombing missions into Syria, which they don't usually admit, but they cannot do so without permission from Syria's ally Russia. Therefore, it is important for Israel to maintain good diplomatic relations with Russia. However, as Russia began their military attack against Ukraine, Russia also made a statement to Israel that it does not honor their claim that the Golan Heights belong to them. Russia says the Golan Heights belong to Syria, (and by the way, major reserves of oil have been discovered on the Golan Heights). This means that as long as Israel continues to claim the Golan Heights as their own rightful territory, it is going to adversely affect Russian-Israeli relations.
Visions and Dreams About WWIII
Numerous Christians have been receiving visions and dreams about World War III for decades. I have compiled the more recent ones into a playlist on Youtube called WWIII. I truly hope you will take time to watch the playlist and prayerfully consider what the Lord showed these people.

Many of you will not take any of these seriously, but you should. If you take the time to read these visions and dreams, I think you will find that they were genuine ones give by the Holy Spirit. Be careful you don't despise any prophetic dream, vision, or utterance that is truly from the Lord through His servants. As Paul the apostle said: "Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil." (1Th 5:20-22)
To anyone who does not believe that my warning is from God, take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you: "'Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.'" (Act 13:40-41)
Scriptures
These visions and dreams that I have just cited in the previous section agree with the numerous Scriptural passages that speak of these end time wars and rumors of war. The Lord Himself said, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come." (Mat 24:6). Other passages you should consider reading and meditating on are Ezekiel 38-39, that many believe speaks of a Russian coalition attack upon Israel in the last days, and Jeremiah 1:13-16 about the boiling cauldron from the north tilted toward Israel.
Chernobyl Means Wormwood
Very interestingly, there is a passage in Revelation about the third trumpet judgment of God to be released on the earth. It says:
"The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter." (Rev 8:10-11)
Many students of the Word, including myself, have speculated that this passage about a great star blazing like a torch could be referring to a nuclear missile that falls from the sky and releases deadly radiation upon the earth. Chernobyl, said to mean "wormwood', is the name of the town north of Kiev, Ukraine, where a nuclear power plant experienced a cataclysmic reactor meltdown (failure) in 1986 that released radiation across Europe. The fact that Chernobyl means Wormwood is cause for us to pause and consider what is happening now in Ukraine and how it could erupt into nuclear war with Russia.

Closing Words
I hope that this message has helped to alert you to the signs that are happening all around us right now, which are pointing to the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a time for sanctification, separation, and preparation, as the Lord said to one sister in Christ recently. It is not unwise to prepare yourself and family physically, but it is definitely wise to prepare yourself spiritually for what is about to happen. You need the Lord's protection over you.
Jesus Christ is about to come back for His Bride, and not all Christians are going to be taken, but only those who are ready. Many think they are ready but they are not, because they are still worldly and unsanctified. The Lord is coming for a Bride that is pure and blameless without spot or wrinkle (Eph 5:27; 1 Thes 4:16-17; Rev 19:6-9).
After he removes His Bride from the earth, that is going to kick off the Great Tribulation, which is going to be seven years of hell on earth (Mt 24:21). You don't want to be here for that, so please do whatever it takes to get ready for the rapture. I pray for all the saints reading this that your hearts would be strengthened, so that you would be blameless and holy in the presence of God at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His holy ones.
To anyone reading this who is living in compromise of some kind, repent and turn back to God. As the prophet Isaiah said, "Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." (Isa 55:7).
For those of you who don't know Jesus, I urge you to repent and give your life to Jesus Christ. Ask Him to forgive you and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Please see the link at the end of this article to help you in that decision.

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus. Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?
“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15). He preached that we must repent and believe.
